Iran’s ‘Sluggish Life’ to compete at London fest

Iranian short ‘Sluggish Life’ is to compete at the London Short Film Festival in the UK.

Iranian short ‘Sluggish Life’ has been selected to compete at the 17th London Short Film Festival (LSFF) in the UK.

Directed by Mohsen Mehri, the short film narrates the story of a man who is living a weird life.

“A man lives alone in a dark house between millions of eggs; he wants to call someone, but he does not succeed until the phone rings,” a synopsis for ‘Sluggish Life’ reads.

The short film is produced by Qazvin Youth Cinema Association along with Moeen Takrousta and Alireza Rahimzadeh.

Mehri’s short has previously participated at a number of festivals, including the 2018 Tirana International Film Festival in Albania, the 2018 Izmir Short Film Festival in Turkey, the 2018 Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran, the 2019 Watersprite International Student Film Festival in the UK, the 6th Chennai International Short Film Festival in India, and the 9th Queens World Film Festival in the US.

Founded in 2003, the LSFF is entering its seventeenth year. The event is a platform for showcasing emerging and established homegrown and international short films.

The 17th edition of the LSFF is slated for January 10-19, 2020.
